The implementation of AdriaMed has always been based
on the identification of the priority topics of the Adriatic region’s
fishing and scientific sectors. This has been achieved through fostering
and facilitating a participative and cooperative approach involving
national experts from the Adriatic countries in Working Groups and ad
hoc meetings. Based on the priorities identified, Project’s activities have been
implemented in collaboration with the Adriatic research institutions and
fisheries administrations. Cooperative research programmes, training
courses, technical assistance, multidisciplinary and multilevel meetings
have been organised by the Project to cope with emerging priorities in
support of developing a regional approach and a common view on fisheries
management and shared resources use. The activities results have been
disseminated through scientific and technical publications and ad hoc
communication strategy at national and international fora. The AdriaMed activities aim at encompassing some of the principal
aspects of the Adriatic marine capture fisheries, particularly of those
which are based on shared stocks. Issues related to fish and fishery
biology, fishing fleets, fishery socio-economics and resource users are
covered. |
