Adriatic Fishery Associations - First AdriaMed Meeting

(Split, Croatia 17-18 July 2001)

 
 
Background

A meeting with the Adriatic fishery associations was held in July in Split (Croatia). The meeting, which was structured as a working group, was opened to the associations operative in the fishery sector and their representatives around the Adriatic basin. 
The aims of the meeting were:

  • to transfer recent developments and knowledge acquired by AdriaMed to the Adriatic fishery sector;

  • the gain a deeper understanding of production in the Adriatic;

  • to discuss matters related to the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries;

  • to identify and discuss common and priority issues around the Adriatic basin which can see the intervention and support of the AdriaMed Project; 

  • to discuss the possibility of establishing a regional (Adriatic) network.
