As
a central tenet of the FAO Code of Conduct for
Responsible Fisheries, FAO-AdriaMed recognized the
need to address and include small-scale fishery (SSF)
within the Project's framework. An introductory
consultation meeting was held in Croatia in 2003. On
that occasion regional experts laid all the
necessary basis for future collaboration among
AdriaMed partners. As result, an international team
was established as a Working Group on SSF (WG SSF).
The activities of the WG-SSF were aimed at taking on
the investigation of multiple aspects affecting the
SSFs in the Adriatic Sea in consideration of the
shared stock issue and of the interactions with
other fisheries. |
